Rarely do you come across a table tennis blade that produces tremendous ball speed without completely diminishing its touch/feel. The Red Widow’s primary purpose is ball speed, and lots of it! But rest assured that offensively confident players will also find utility for its reasonable control and consistency. Built with two carbon layers, this blade can generate increased amounts of speed, while its 5 wood layers preserve a player’s short game feel. Our testing team had a blast pushing the speed of this blade to its limits and highly recommended pairing the Red Widow with a hard sponge rubber in order to get the most out of your game.

RUBBER INFORMATION
Think SPEED when you think Dark Velocity. The rubber and hard sponge were developed to not only increase the velocity of your own shots, but also to use the spin and speed of your opponent’s shots against them. Players who look to Block deep and aggressively finish rallies will relish this extremely offensive rubber. Backhand Flicks fly off the rubber at an incredible pace and chops are exceptionally manageable considering the offensive makeup of this rubber. The hard sponge and rubber combo also help produce increased accuracy for flat hits, even when your opponent is playing with increased speed and spin.
Remember, the harder you hit with Dark Velocity the more spin its hard sponge/rubber combination will generate for you!

SPEED
As one of the fastest blades in the CounterStrike Collection, the Red Widow will not disappoint those looking to keep their opponents on their toes. Our testing team not only found that this blade was incredible for offensive play, but it also provided effortless defensive blocking speed. The Red Widow is a blade engineered for those that are confident in their offensive strokes or those who are looking increase the speed of their game to new levels.
CONTROL
For all of its focus on speed, the Red Widow is still surprisingly controllable as a blade. In general, table tennis blades that drastically increase the speed of the ball tend to lose a bit of control. Luckily, our development team understood this issue and developed a blade that mitigates many of those losses. Seasoned players will find the Red Widow as a real asset to their offensive game, while beginners or players that have not generally played with high-speed blades my find the Red Widow a bit more difficult to control. That being said, the Red Widow still provides mid-level control for intermediate level players and above.
TOUCH
Like every carbon blade, its increased speed capabilities through its carbon layer does decrease its touch capabilities. And this blade has A WHOLE LOT of pace to it. Luckily our research and development team spent months figuring out a way to mitigate this standard loss of touch by adding specific layers of wood to the Red Widow. This offensive carbon blade does not have the touch of all around or defensive blades. That being said, intermediate or higher players will have no problem with the feel of Red Widow.
CONSISTENCY
After hours of rigorous tests, our testing team found that the Red Widow has a mid-to-high consistency rate. Though this blade was built for speed, our research and development made sure that this blade could replicate the same shot placement time and time again. Our testing team noted that this blade is extremely consistent on flat hits and blocking shots.
RUBBER STROKE PERFORMANCE
SERVE
Because Dark Velocity is a harder sponge/rubber combination, it is perfectly equipped for deep and fast serves. Our testing team did note that it was a bit more difficult to generate increased amounts of spin on shorter serves than softer sponge/rubber combinations.
TOPSPIN
If you are very confident in your fast strokes and accuracy, this rubber can create greater amounts of spin than softer rubbers. This harder sponge/rubber combination produces a very low dwell time for the ball. This means that on slower stokes, the ball will not produce as much spin as softer sponge/rubber combinations. That being said, the harder you hit the ball the more spin you will be able to produce.
LOOPING
Dark Velocity is not for players that rely on looping as an integral part of their game. That being said, it is able to loop fairly adequately. The lower dwell time from this harder sponge/rubber combination will create less of an arch than softer sponges, but according to our testing team it is still quite consistent in looping if you are familiar with harder sponge/rubber combinations.
PUSH
Though this is a harder sponge/rubber combination. it still provides a good feel for those who find themselves pushing a lot. Dark Velocity’s composition is quite suitable at using your opponent’s spin against them. Our testers did note that you may find yourself keeping your blade a bit more open than you would with softer sponges.
CHOP
Our testing teams was blown away with how well Dark Velocity chops. The low dwell time on the rubber/sponge combination allows you fantastic control over ball placement. If you play deep and like to chop back to your opponent, this might become your new favorite chopping rubber!
BLOCK
Dark Velocity is absolutely superb at blocking your opponent’s attacks. Our testing team found that blocks that would typically be defensive, came off the rubber with such pace that they actually became offensive weapons. Dark Velocity blocks so fast and so accurately, one of our testers stated that some players may rarely need to go on the offensive!
FLAT HIT
If you have incorporated speed and flat shots into your game, this is the perfect rubber for you. Our team of testers found that Dark Velocity is not only extremely fast with flat shots, it is also tremendously accurate!
FLICK
Dark Velocity stands out when it comes to flick shots and is able to produce amazing speed without giving up control or accuracy. This rubber is brilliant at ball positioning (both short and deep) off of the backhand flick. Our testing team found that flick shots with Dark Velocity immediately put their opponent on defense and allowed them to dictate play.
